Padarn Country Park and Mining Heritage Centre, Llanberis, North Wales UK : This place is fantastic. You can visit museums, take a steam-train journey around the area and go on several different walks. It's certainly a whole day out (if not two!) Very close by is the station to take the steam train up to the summit of Mount Snowdon.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard ft HMS Victory and HMS Warrior, Portsmouth UK : These images feature scenes on board HMS Victory, Admiral Nelson's ship that took part in the Battle of Trafalgar. She is mostly restored now and it is a real experience and an honour, to be able to walk around quite a large part of her. The gallery also includes a few images taken on board HMS Warrior, which can be hired for private functions; there was actually a wedding on board the day I visited and I have to say that, whilst the Warrior is a beautiful ship, I did feel like something of an intruder/gatecrasher on this particular occasion. No doubt I shall visit her again though, along with HMS Victory, who touched me enormously and on board whom I felt most at home...

Llechwedd Slate Mines, North Wales UK : Llechwedd is the home of Llechwedd Slate Mines and is near to Blaenau Ffestiniog, North Wales, UK. A visit here is certainly an experience never to be forgotten. They are still mining here, although open-cast rather than deep.
